It’s true. I did. I got a great job opportunity here and took it; I’m now a digital director for a start-up that I can talk about in a few months. For the moment, just know it’s rad and you’ll hear all about it in the near future. It was sad to leave Germany, but I have to say, I am super excited about living in New York for the foreseeable long-term future.
Obligatory list of things I’ll miss about Berlin:
The friends I made.
The lack of humidity and super high temperatures.
The myriad public parks.
The well-behaved dogs who wander into stores.
The bakeries on literally every corner.
The view from the Telekom office.
The advanced environmental standards, mandating comprehensive recycling and an awareness of energy use and conservation.
The incredibly efficient and useful public transportation system.
The meals I could get for under 6 euro.
The sound of the tram out my window at night.
The empty streets.
Baths.
My flatmate making espresso in the mornings.
Our balcony.
Seeing stars.
All those free liters of water in the office.
11pm sunsets.
